A husband, a dad, may say, “Let me tell you about my family.” A new car owner may say, “Let me tell you about my new car.” It is good to know about some things; we want you to know about the church of Christ at 201 East Main Street, Manchester, TN.
Among other things, the church is the “house,” the family of God (1 Timothy 3:15). We come from all walks of life, but we all have the same “Father,” who “begat us again” (1 Peter 1:3), by “incorruptible” seed, “the word of God” (v. 23). Our part in this is that we “purifed [our] souls in...obedience to the truth” (v. 22), and we were “born anew,” born of water and the Spirit” (John 3:3-5). Faith, repentance, confession of “Jesus as Lord,” and baptism in water results in a newborn Christian, from conception to birth.
Being in the same family, we all have the same “inheritance” (1 Peter 1:4). It is “uncorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven.”
